Welcome to the Partnership: Formesse GmbH & Co. KG

We are pleased to welcome Formesse to the Textiles Partnership.

The new Partnership member from Baden-Württemberg has been distributing and producing high-quality and durable home textiles Made in Germany in the 3rd generation since 1947.

Formesse sources the raw materials for fitted sheets and pillowcases from a small circle of German yarn traders. After that, the production chain is located in Germany - the sewing production step is supplemented by ready-made garments in the neighbouring EU countries of France and Slovakia. Through innovative and efficient production and distribution structures as well as close contact with employees and business partners along the supply chain, the family-owned company guarantees a high level of product quality. Formesse sees its corporate philosophy confirmed in the SLOW movement: the appreciative & slowed-down consumption of durable, high-quality products.

Sustainability has long been a matter close to the heart of the family business. Since 2004, all Formesse products have been certified with Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®. This year, products made from the Tencel™ Lyocell fibre were also added to the range. In the meantime, a recycled polyester building yarn has also been added. Solar panels and many on-site conversions at the company headquarters also helped to raise awareness of sustainability among the workforce. In 2018, for example, the entire company grounds were redesigned in a nature-friendly way in cooperation with the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. Since 2020, Formesse as a company and its entire product range has been certified climate-neutral. Formesse is currently implementing plastic-free packaging for its products made from recycled kraft cardboard.

Managing Director Matthias Jaschke explains the reasons for joining the Textile Partnership: "Today, companies are in a constant balancing act of fair conditions for employees, customers, producers and the environment. The latter often gets the short end of the stick, because environmental protection and sustainable materials are usually expensive. The love of nature is deeply rooted in us, as is a concern for future generations. We have decided to invest in sustainability and environmental protection."
