Recap to the 2025 OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector

This year‘s forum provided participants in Paris and online with an important platform for exchanging perspectives, making lasting contacts and taking joint action. As in previous years, this event brought together representatives from governments, businesses, trade unions, civil society, and international organisations to discuss challenges, risks, and best practices in implementing due diligence in global textile supply chains.

Our highlights

Increasing sector capacity to measure responsible purchasing practices (RPP)

This main session addressed measurability and monitoring of progress on responsible purchasing practices. The RPP working group in cooperation with STTI presented the draft of the Purchasing Practices HRDD Framework. It became clear that consumers also want impacts to be measured to understand what RPP means for workers in the supply chain.

Closing the gender data gap – insights from field projects in India and Tunisia

Together with our partners Ethical Trading Initiative and Hessnatur Stiftung, we spoke with participants about the development of a business case for gender disaggregated data in India and Tunisia and their perspectives on the gender data gap with emphasis on worker voice.

Local structures at the centre: What can industry-wide grievance mechanisms do to (better) strengthen them?

The joint session with our partners Fair Wear Foundation and Amfori explored the relationship between local grievance mechanisms (such as trade unions) and industry-wide grievance mechanisms. Our key takeaway here: In a complex world, get together with others – you need good and long-lasting partnerships!

Several of the forum sessions were recorded and can be viewed here!

Fair Wear and PST sign MoU at the OECD Forum

Annabel Meurs, Associate Director at the Fair Wear Foundation and Gina Burgard, Head of the Partnership Secretariat, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for their cooperation, setting a milestone for long-term collaboration on grievance mechanisms. The MoU formalises the cooperation with the aim of making the Fair Wear grievance mechanism available to the Partnership members.
