The fourth Members' Meeting of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles took place in Berlin on October 30, 2018.
Seven break-out-sessions were realised during the meeting. The results may now be used by the expert groups for their work.
Ten Partnership members presented approaches on how to create more sustainable processes and products under the theme "Mutual learning, reaching common goals". An open space session allowed for gathering and further developing ideas for new Partnership initiatives.
Moreover, the Partnership Initiative concept for living wages was presented and discussed. The Expert Group will include the feedback from this session to further develop the concept, which has since been approved. Additionally, the topic was the focus of another break-out-session on an interactive case study that introduced participants to the method of "open costing" and explained the link between an open cost-calculation and living wages.
The workshop entitled Understanding and Implementing Due Diligence allowed the participants to discuss specific challenges regarding the implementation of due diligence within businesses.
In addition, interested members took a look at the future of the textile industry and informed themselves about current trends in innovative fibers.
The big opportunities and risks of automation were the core subject of another workshop where the global consequences of digitalisation within the textiles industry were also discussed.
