Sustainability in textile supply chains has many faces. Realising high demands requires a well-founded and recognised knowledge base and specialist expertise. The OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains in the Garment and Footwear Sector.
In 2015, the Textiles Partnership began building the know-how required to practically implement the OECD Guidance and thus the Partnership's Goals. It contains three major areas:
- How? Processual knowledge about the implementation of due diligence.
- What? Knowledge about how to handle specific risks in the textile and garment industry. These risks cause different needs for action in different areas. Examples are the following topics Living Wages, Chemical and Environmental Management, Child and Forced Labour or production of Fibres.
- With what? Tools to spread this know-how.
