Chemicals management programme

Objective

The aim of the project is to work with suppliers and the chemicals industry to reduce and prevent releases of hazardous chemicals in areas in which the Adidas Group can exert influence to the greatest possible extent.

Short description

For many years, the Adidas Group has run leadership programmes that address the issue of chemicals management. The chemicals management programme comprises a comprehensive system of programmes and instruments that are regularly updated in order to continuously improve the Group’s chemical footprint.

Achievements

  • more than 50% of rhe suppliers publish their data of their waste water management on the IPE plattform which enhances the transparency.
  • since 2007: publication of annual waste water reports of the suppliers.
  • cooperation with China National Textile & Trade Council (CNTAC).
  • Adidas group was the leading example in the IPE report 2015 ‘Greening the Supply Chain’.
  • Innovation and advancement PFC free products. Unitl the end of 2016 all products are PFC free
  • Training of more than 450 Employees in Chemical management.
