We are excited to announce a new cooperation between the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles (PST) and Sustainable Textiles Switzerland 2030 (STS 2030)!
The collaboration between the two multi-stakeholder-initiatives is driven by a shared understanding: To address the sustainability challenges of today’s modern and complex supply chains, it takes a comprehensive and integrated approach by companies to managing risks in their own operations and supply chains. PST and STS 2030 are both convinced that the due diligence concept provides the basis to achieve the required sustainability management.
To bring about systemic and continuous improvements of environmental and working conditions in production countries, it is essential to scale-up the implementation of due diligence. One Key to achieve this is further collaboration between European Stakeholder Initiatives and rightsholders in production countries.
Main focus areas of cooperation:
- Engaging textile companies in Switzerland and Germany without duplicating efforts.
- Aligning tools, systems, and goals with the EU Green transition and EU Textile strategy to support companies, brands, and their suppliers in moving towards a social and ecological transition.
- Scaling-up the implementation of due diligence by aligning both parties’ instruments and projects.
- Fostering impactful projects in production countries to minimize human rights violations and environmental harm.
The common goal is to drive systemic improvements and support a sustainable textile industry. We are looking forward to the cooperation!
