PST Invites: Online Session Gender x Due Diligence

News on the Partnership's Activities

Thursday, 31 of July 2025
Time: 10:00 – 11:00

(UTC + 02:00)

Language: English

In the textile sector, 60–80% of workers are women. Companies that take gender aspects into account in their due diligence processes have demonstrated clear business benefits: increased productivity, lower staff turnover, and improved workplace relations. However, existing due diligence frameworks offer little practical guidance, and many companies are still facing challenges in identifying and implementing gender-responsive measures.

This one-hour online session will focus on the business case for integrating gender aspects into due diligence. We will discuss typical challenges and present examples of effective and economically sound approaches taken by brands and producers.

Objectives of the Online Session
You will:

  • Learn about the interlinkages between gender, social vulnerability and due dilligence

  • Gain insights into challenges in identifying and implementing gendered measures

  • Learn about the business case for implementing gendered measures (e.g., economic benefits) and learn about existing good practices from brands and producers.

Target Audience
This session is designed for members of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles and other relevant stakeholders from brands and suppliers who are actively engaged in strengthening social sustainability in supply chains. You are welcome to pass on the link so that even more people can register via mail (mail@textilbuendnis.com) and take part.

The Partnership has been transformed

The former Partnership for sustainable Textiles (PST) is now officially the Dialogue and Impact for Sustainable Textiles (DST). The multi-stakeholder network brings committed international, European and local stakeholders even closer together to promote a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable textile and clothing industry. The focus is on practical exchanges, knowledge transfer, and the development of initiatives with the involvement of local actors.
