Water Stewardship

„If climate change is a shark, water will be its teeth.”

Water Stewardship is a concept for identifying and reducing water risks along textile supply chains and adapting to global warming. Water is a common good, a human right and a habitat and requires a systemic approach that is effective in the river basin and takes into account the interests of the stakeholders. Textile companies should know the water risks of their supply chains and work together with other stakeholders to achieve more sustainable water use in the affected river basins. For this purpose, companies can use existing tools, get involved in networks and initiate or join projects.
