Mitglieder des Textilbündnisses stellen Forderung an die Regierung in Bangladesch

Mitglieder des Textilbündnisses fordern die Regierung in Bangladesch auf dafür einzutreten, dass die bestehenden Vereinbarungen zur Übergabe des Bangladesch Accord eingehalten werden.

In einem Brief an die Regierung von Bangladesch fordern Mitglieder des Textilbündnisses und Accord, darunter Tchibo, ALDI Süd und ALDI Nord sowie Hugo Boss die Einhaltung und Unterstützung bestehender Vereinbarungen zur Übergabe des Bangladesch Accord an eine nationale Institution. Hintergrund waren aktuelle Entwicklungen und Unstimmigkeiten. Der Accord regelt Maßnahmen zu Gebäudesicherheit und Brandschutz in Textil- und Bekleidungsfabriken in Bangladesch.

Im Oktober vergangenen Jahres hatte das Transition Monitoring Committee (TMC) des Accord – bestehend aus Regierung, Arbeitgebervereinigung sowie am Accord beteiligte Gewerkschaften und Marken- & Handelsunternehmen – objektive Kriterien vereinbart, die für eine Übergabe des Accord an eine nationale Institution erfüllt sein müssen. Ob diese Kriterien letztlich erfüllt sind, obliegt der Entscheidung des TMC.
